Clinical Research Assistant/Trials Coordinator

The position of Clinical Research Assistant/Clinical Trial Coordinator operates within the Macular Research Unit (MRU) of the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA). MRU’s main research focus is Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), the most common cause of severe visual loss in our community. The position will be involved in drug company sponsored international clinical trials as well as the MRU’s own clinical research.

The role requires a sensitive and mature approach dealing with patients and liaising with medical and other hospital staff. A tertiary level qualification, preferably in Nursing, Orthoptics or Optometry is required, and clinical experience, (preferably in ophthalmology) is essential. Data handling is a component of the workload where attention to detail and organisational skills are paramount.
