Professor Jonathan Crowston
Jonathan Crowston FRCOphth, PhD is Professor of Ophthalmology at the Center for Eye Research Australia, University of Melbourne. He obtained his medical degree at the Royal Free Hospital, University of London and a PhD at the Institute of Ophthalmology and University College London.
He received his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and subsequently completed Glaucoma Fellowships at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and the Shiley Eye Center of the University of California, San Diego. He was subsequently appointed assistant professor at UCSD and served as Director of the Hamilton Glaucoma Center Basic Research Laboratories.
His research interests include ocular wound healing, molecular pharmacology and retinal ganglion cell injury in mouse glaucoma models.
As of 1 January 2008, Professor Crowston is appointed as the Deputy Head of Department.
